The North Yorkshire County Show took place under blue skies and scorching temperatures as it settled into the Camp Hill Estate for the first time this year.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting it for our first year and we could not have wished for better weather on Sunday 18th June.
It was the 39th year of the NYCS and it attracted over 10,000 people to our beautiful estate and it was so wonderful to see so many from our local community come together for this great event!
By early-afternoon we were fully packed and the ring sides filled up with spectators who enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment in the main ring, which was this year named in honour of one of the show’s most dedicated and knowledgeable characters, the late show commentator, Mike Keeble.
Show secretary Alan Andrew said: “We’re delighted with the field and its lay-out and also the way the traffic has come off the roads.
“We’re aware there was a problem with the traffic leaving the light horse area, as a horsebox left at 11am and was faced with oncoming traffic, but we’ll sit down and sort that problem out.
“But overall it's been good. The idea is that this becomes our home now.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved with organising this fantastic event for the first year at it's new home here on the Camp Hill Estate and we cannot wait to do it all again next year!
